SpiralScouts Cooking Badge

Our hearth is working on the Cooking Badge right now and so the scouts have been accepted to a very prestigious cooking academy taught by the fameous Chef Rolando Mustasfo Chardonnay.

The kids made fruit salad and Silk smoothies last time, and this time they made Vegan (and gluten-free) Tortilla Soup. Slurp!

Enjoying the result of their labor:

Whups! I didn't get a picture until the bowl was half eaten.
Oh Well. At any rate, they all enjoyed it. And one scout had three bowls.

AWESOME!! We haven't attempted the cooking badge yet, but we are thinking about nutrition coming up soon ;)

How old are your scouts? I think that makes a difference in how interesting the cooking badge can be.

Also, my co-leader ROCKS at coming up with unique ways to make the "boring stuff" (i.e. lecture) more fun.

In this case, the hats, aprons, cutting boards and knives that the dues paid for. They get to keep those for themselves, and they thought that was pretty snazzy. (And Co-Leader does the voices, too. For Drama Badge he was Italian and for cooking I think he's aiming for French ex-pat in New York, hmm.)
